The Supreme Court released additional orders from the January 4 conference on Monday. The justices issued summary opinions in City of Escondido v. Emmons and Shoop v. Hill.

On Monday, the justices heard oral argument in Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. v. Albrecht and Obduskey v. McCarthy & Holthus LLP.
On Tuesday, the justices heard oral argument in Herrera v. Wyoming and Fourth Estate Public Benefit Corp. v. Wall-Street.com.
On Wednesday, the justices heard oral argument in Franchise Tax Board of California v. Hyatt.
On Friday, the justices met for their January 11 conference. That afternoon, the justices granted eight new cases: Quarles v. United States, Rehaif v. United States, Parker Drilling Management Services, Ltd. v. Newton, North Carolina Department of Revenue v. The Kimberley Rice Kaestner 1992 Family Trust, Food Marketing Institute v.
