Friday round-up

Happy New Year!  Most of the Court-related news for this first round-up of 2015 involves an event at the very end of 2014 – specifically, the Chief Justice’s year-end report on the federal judiciary.  As Lyle Denniston recounted for this blog, one of the dominant themes in the report was technology and its effect on the operation of the federal courts, including the prospect that the Supreme Court could put an electronic filing system into place as soon as 2016.  Other coverage of the year-end report comes from Jess Bravin of The Wall Street Journal and Kent Scheidegger of Crime and Consequences.

A friendly reminder:  We rely on our readers to send us links for the round-up.  If you have or know of a recent (published in the last two or three days) article, post, or op-ed relating to the Court that you’d like us to consider for inclusion in the round-up, please send it to roundup [at] scotusblog.com.
