A loss for the Court community and the bar (UPDATED)
on Jan 13, 2013 at 4:35 pm
We at the blog are sorry to report the sad news that Frank Lorson, the former Chief Deputy Clerk of the Supreme Court, died on Friday morning. By the time he retired in 2002, Lorson had worked at the Court for thirty years, over twenty of which were spent as the Chief Deputy Clerk. As then-Solicitor General Ted Olson observed when Lorson retired, “Frank Lorson was a treasure to the Court and everyone who practices there.” He will be missed.
A memorial service celebrating Lorson’s life will be held on Thursday, January 17, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, at 1315 8th Street N.W. in the District of Columbia.
