The week ahead

The Court remains in recess this week until Friday, when the Justices will hold their private conference to consider petitions for certiorari and motions in pending cases. Decisions from that conference are expected in orders on Monday, March 22.

Merits briefs are due in four cases this week.  The respondents’ brief in City of Ontario v. Quon (08-1332) is due on Tuesday, March 16.  The petitioners’ replies are due Friday, March 19 in each of Morrison v. National Australia Bank (08-1191), Renico v. Lett (09-338), and Barber v. Thomas (09-5201).
