No oral arguments are scheduled this week.
On Monday, the Court is expected to release the remaining orders from the Justices’ private conference last Friday, and may also issue one or more opinions.
By Tuesday, lawyers for detainees at Guantanamo Bay must file a response to the government’s petition for certiorari in Gates v. Bismullah (07-1054), involving the scope of information the government must provide the D.C. Circuit on appeals of determinations of the Combatant Status Review Tribunals.
Merits briefs are due Tuesday for the petitioner in Meacham v. Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (06-1505), and Wednesday for the respondent in Indiana v. Edwards (07-208). The petitioner’s reply brief is due Wednesday in District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290), the case regarding the constitutionality of the District’s handgun restrictions.
