Round-Up

Richard Hasen, of Election Law Blog, contributes an op-ed for the Washington Post today, urging the Supreme Court to grant cert in a case challenging a new Indiana law that requires voters to show photo ID at the polls.

Robert Post and Reva Siegel respond in the New Republic to an earlier article published in the same magazine by Douglas Kendall and James Ryan, which we linked to in this Round-Up. Post and Siegel take issue with Kendall and Ryan’s rallying call for “a left-leaning version of ‘originalism,'” and instead they offer their own suggestions based off of conservative successes.

Tony Mauro’s Courtside feature for the Legal Times includes a segment on Justice Thomas’ long-awaited memoir, to be released October 1st. Will the book reveal anything unexpected? Finally, Mauro offers this “live-blog” posting on Chief Justice Roberts’ address on the First Amendment at Syracuse University.
