Memorial for the late Chief

The Supreme Court on Thursday announced plans for a memorial ceremony for the late Chief Justice, William H. Rehnquist. Attendance is by invitation. Here is the text of the Court’s statement about the event:

The Supreme Court of the United States will honor the memory of the late Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist on June 15 with a meeting of the Supreme Court’s Bar in the Upper Great Hall at 2 p.m., followed by a special sitting of the Court at 3:15 p.m. in the Courtroom.

In another tribute to Chief Justice Rehnquist, President Bush on Thursday signed into law a joint congressional resolution authorizing the creation of a marble bust of the Chief to be placed in the Supreme Court Building. Here is the text of the resolution.
