Confirmation Hearings

The timing for hearings on an O’Connor nomination remains uncertain and the subject of negotiation between the White House and the Senate (the majority leader and the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee). In recent practice, hearings were held between six and eight weeks after a nominee is named.
