Briefing concludes in Dada

Attorneys for a Nigerian citizen facing deportation and the government each filed replies earlier this afternoon to supplemental briefs lodged with the Court last week in No. 06-1181, Dada v. The case involves whether the time under which an alien must leave the country under an order of voluntary departure should toll (i.e. stop) if the alien seeks to reopen the case on the basis of new facts, or, as discussed in the supplemental briefs, whether aliens should be able to simply withdraw requests for voluntary departure in such situations.
