Briefly:

• With the Court scheduled to consider whether to take up the issue of same-sex marriage on Friday, yesterday same-sex couples began to marry in Miami. In The Washington Post, Robert Barnes reports on both sets of developments.
• In his Sidebar column for The New York Times, Adam Liptak discusses the influence of a 1996 law review article by Justice Elena Kagan on the Court’s First Amendment jurisprudence, as well as what it might mean for Reed v. Town of Gilbert, in which the Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments next week.
