Podcast: Christian Legal Society v. Martinez
on Apr 19, 2010 at 10:10 am
If you didn’t prevail in line at the Court this morning to see oral arguments in either Christian Legal Society or Quon, we have two pairs of podcasts with lawyers in these cases (including three who are arguing before the Court this morning). These are part of our continuing series of podcasts on oral argument days.  The first, for the 10 a.m. argument, is below. The podcast for the second argument will be posted shortly after 11 a.m.
At issue in Christian Legal Society v. Martinez (08-1371)Â is whether a public university’s law school may deny school funding and other benefits to a religious student organization because the group requires its officers and voting members to agree with its core religious viewpoints.
For the petitioner, its counsel:
Judge Michael McConnell, professor of law at Stanford (also arguing this morning at the Court)
For one of the respondents, Hastings Outlaw, its counsel:
Paul Smith of Jenner & Block LLP
